Thank you to everyone who helped to make the 2019 Strathfieldsaye Primary School Community Fair such a success. It was one of our most successful community events/ fundraisers to date!

A shout out to Bec Soulsby (President of our fair committee) for her incredible leadership, and to all of the members of our amazing fair committee for their tireless efforts. The many months of preparation, long meetings, phone calls and emails certainly paid off!

The fair committee worked incredibly hard to relaunch our 2019 Community Fair with lots of new ideas and initiatives generated from our parent community. This included the popular ‘Dunk the Teacher’, a plant and second-hand clothing stall, a trash and treasure stall, toddlers’ area, a uniform stall, a books/games/cds/dvds stall, food trucks, special guest appearances from Piggy, Captain America and Supergirl and the introduction of various boutique market stalls. Returning activities and stalls included:

  • Farmer Darryl’s Mobile Animal Farm
  • carnival rides
  • cake stall
  • silent auction
  • spinning wheel
  • face painting
  • grocery grab
  • lucky cups
  • and many, many more…

Our school community was recently invited to share their thoughts about where the Community Fair funds could be allocated.

After collating all the ideas, the Fair Committee and Parents and Friends Committee put forward their recommendations to School Council. They agreed that the funds raised will go towards the purchase of new furniture for our Common Area in our Gr 5/6 building. As this space is regularly used by all year levels and for special family events, School Council thought that everyone would benefit from the lovely new educational furniture.
