At Strathfieldsaye Primary School, we run a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program for students in Grades 4, 5 and 6, and we invite families of students entering Grade 4 the following year (or students in Grade 5 or 6 who are new to our school), to purchase a netbook for their student to use at school and at home for the remaining years of their primary schooling.
To assist families to purchase a suitable netbook for their students, through a ‘lease to purchase’ agreement or a ‘purchase outright agreement’, the SPS School Council has engaged Learning with Technologies (LWT) to provide a recommended device and accessories that will meet the needs of students and support them in their studies until the end of their Grade 6 year.

We strongly encourage parents/carers to take up this opportunity, especially with the added extras that come with this pack. Included within this package are the following items:
- Lenovo 500 W Yoga, 4th Generation Notebook
- Lenovo 3-year onsite warranty
- Lenovo 1 year battery warranty
- Optional Lenovo 3-year accidental damage and theft insurance
- Imaging of the unit to include all DET operations software
- Onsite full Technical Support (if warranty is purchased with package by parents/carers
We also encourage the purchase of the ‘carry bag’ as an accessory as well, to ensure that the netbook can be protected when being transported around by your child. Parents/carers can choose not to purchase the warranty or carry bag through the portal, but please note that if the warranty is not purchased by parents/carers, this will mean that onsite repairs are not available.
LWT offers a range of finance options: These arrangements are agreed between the purchaser, LWT and the finance company and they are not associated with the school. The finance options include:
- Buy Now – paying the full amount up front
- Buy With Finance – entering one of the following finance agreements…
- Latitude Finance – small personal loan
- Zip Pay – set up a Zip Pay account and nominate your own repayment plan

Devices ordered through LWT following our Parent Information Session in August and prior to December 1st will be bulk delivered to the school, ready for use at the start of the school year. Should you have any further questions, please contact the school office on 03 54395207.
Please note that if you are bringing your own device to school, we highly recommend that you supply a Windows based device, as Chromebook and iPad devices aren’t always compatible with our school’s network (printing, educational programs, server access) and this may impact your student’s learning.
Our IT Specialist will put the school programs on your BYO device at the start of the school year.
